Potluck Bites: Retrograde Tequila Cocktail ft. Nostrum Shrubs

As we all know, summer is approaching its inevitable end. For many of us at Thread + Seed, it's a time to express gratitude for all the fun the hot months have brought us. It's also a time when we all try to squeeze in one last gathering of friends and family, before the hubbub of autumn speeds up our lives once again.

We joined with Tayler Coffin and some of our favorite beverage and pantry makers to share food and friends on our back patio. Check out some of the recipes and memories from our Potluck!

Retrograde Cocktail

featuring Nostrum Cocktail Shrubs

Nostrum has been our go-to for our home bars since we discovered them many moons ago. Their apple cider vinegar-based mixers (shrubs) add a flavorful but not-too-sweet complexity to any cocktail (or mocktail!). The Retrograde combines all things we are into drinking this summer: tequila, Aperol, pineapple and citrus!

1.5 oz Blanco Tequila
1/2 oz Aperol
1/2 oz Nostrum Pineapple Turmeric Ginger Shrub
3/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice
Lime Wheel or Citrus Wedge to Garnish

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
Shake until well mixed.
Strain into a coupe glass or cocktail glass of your choice.
Garnish with a lime wheel or other citrus.
